Dolby digital surround sound audio patch cable:
Audio output from the DVD player may be routed to an external DVD player if Dolby digital surround sound is desired, via a special fiber optic cable. One supplier of this cable is Sony Corporation, Sony Parts Department: (800) 488-7669.
Additional Information:
When the DVD player is operating properly, a red LED can be seen flashing at the digital output port located at the rear of the computer.
To move the DVD Player to the forefront of the screen, click the secondary button on the DVD window. To move the DVD Player to the background, click the secondary button again.
Resume/Suspend mode is not supported while the computer is accessing the DVD ROM drive. Do not attempt to use Resume or Suspend when DVD media is running.
Verify that the drive is not being accessed by the computer before hot-swapping the DVD drive.
Resolutions greater than 1024x768 are not recommended, as higher settings may result in distorted viewing of the DVD media.
If the DVD drive is installed in the DeskStation V Plus, DVD media may not play properly.
The computer supports one CD ROM or DVD drive at one time. Do not attempt to run two of these drives simultaneously by installing one in the computer's SelectBay slot and one in the DeskStation V Plus slot.
If a blank screen appears while watching DVD media, disable the Shut off monitor selection in the Display Properties window. Locate Display Properties by clicking Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display.
If an active screen saver interrupts DVD viewing, disable the screen saver by clicking Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display and selecting the Screen Saver tab
DVD media may appear distorted when "Stretch" is enabled and the video resolution is set to 640x480 or 800x600. If the video display is set to 800x600, disable stretch by clicking Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display. Click Properties, then click the Toshiba tab. Select DOS Text Mode Stretch. Select Disable.
When running DVD media, the video camera applications will not run. To use video camera applications, first turn off the DVD player and then launch video camera applications.
