Although the User's Guide refers to a "Volume Control Dial" for adjusting the sound volume, this model does not have any kind of hardware volume control.

Adjust the computer's sound volume as follows:

1. Press and hold down the "Fn" key.
   
   
2. While continuing to press "Fn", press the up arrow key to increase the volume, and the down arrow key to decrease the volume.

If it's not possible to adjust the volume and/or there is no onscreen display for the volume control, you may need to install or reinstall the Toshiba Hotkey Utility for Windows XP. See Obtaining downloads and support docs from the Toshiba Support website.
