Information

Due to limited availability of the original lamps, new lamps are available for the projector models listed above.

The part numbers for the lamps have been changed as follows:

  • TLPL-T3 has been replaced by TLPL-T3A

  • TLPL-T1 has been replaced by TLPL-T1A

In some projector units, a power supply and/or firmware update will be required to support the new lamps. Please follow these steps to determine whether or not your projector will need to visit a Toshiba service center for an update.

Step 1: Contact Service Center

If you need a lamp for one of the projector models listed above, please have your projector model number and serial number ready, and then call one of the following two designated Toshiba service centers.

Step 2: Determine the firmware and power supply versions

The Toshiba service centers will help you determine the versions of the firmware and power supply in your projector, and then will advise which of the following two actions to take next:

A. For projectors that are determined to have the current power supply and software, you may purchase a replacement lamp. (Please skip Step 3.)

B. For projectors that are determined to need an update to either the power supply or firmware (or both), you will be instructed to send the projector to a designated Toshiba service center to have the firmware update installed. (Please proceed to Step 3.)

Step 3: Ship projector to service center (if needed per Step 2)

A. Toshiba will pay the shipping charges for your projector to be shipped to and from the Toshiba service center. The Toshiba service center will assist you with making arrangements. When packing your projector, please use a sturdy cardboard box with appropriate packing materials, so that your projector will not be damaged during transit. An example of appropriate packing materials consists of, but is not limited to, bubble wrap and dense foam.

B. Once your projector is packed and ready for shipment, please ship your projector to the selected Toshiba service center.

Warranty Coverage

1. If the lamp fails during the Original 90 Day Lamp Limited Warranty: The replacement lamp, power supply and software upgrade will be covered by the Toshiba Limited Warranty.

2. If the projector is under warranty, but the Original 90 Day Limited Lamp Warranty has expired: The power supply and software upgrades are covered by the Toshiba Limited Warranty. You will need to send the projector to a designated Toshiba service center for upgrades. You will have the option to purchase a replacement lamp from the Toshiba service center after upgrades are installed. The new lamps may be purshased only after a completed upgrade, since they are not for use in systems that don’t have the appropriate firmware and power supply revisions installed.

3. If the projector and lamp are out of warranty, and the lamp fails: Toshiba will make a special concession to cover the installation of the power supply and the software at no charge to you. You will need to send the projector to a designated Toshiba service center for the updates. You will have the option to purchase a replacement lamp from the Toshiba service center after the upgrades are installed. The new lamps may be purshased only after a completed upgrade, since they are not for use in systems that don’t have the appropriate firmware and power supply revisions installed.
