Issue

This document is only applicable to Toshiba laptops with Intel Anti-Theft Technology.

PC Theft Defense is a service that can automatically lock down your laptop and sensitive data if it’s lost or stolen.

This service is installed on select models of computers

The setting for Intel AT (Anti-theft) may be set to disabled in the Toshiba Setup Utility preventing activation of PC Defense.

Resolution

To enable Intel AT in Toshiba Setup Utility, follow the procedure below.

Procedure

1. With the computer off, press the power button and immediately press the F2 key to enter the Toshiba Setup Utility.
2. Use the right arrow key to highlight Advanced section.
3. Use the down arrow key to select the settings for Intel (R) AT.
4. Press the enter key to change the setting to Enabled.
5. Press the Enter key.
6. Press the F10 key to save the change.
7. Press the Y key to save the change and exit.
