- Issue
If TOSHIBA PC Health Monitor is enabled, sound or video may skip intermittently in Windows Media Player (WMP) or Windows Media Center (WMC).
This issue occurs when SMART commands are issued by the Intel SATA driver.
As a workaround, Toshiba has updated the PC Health Monitor and HDD/SSD Alert utilities so that SMART commands will not be requested when sound or video is being played through WMP or WMC.
- Resolution
If PC Health Monitor is being used (or may be used) Toshiba recommends downloading and installing the versions of HDD/SSD Alert and PC Health Monitor listed below, or later versions if they exist.
Note that both HDD/SSD Alert and PC Health Monitor must be updated to correct the problem.
As of March 10, 2010, the latest utilities are:
For 32-bit Windows Vista & Windows 7:
Toshiba PC Health Monitor for Windows Vista/7 (32-bit) - Version 1.5.6.0
Toshiba HDD/SSD Alert for Windows Vista/7 (32-bit) - Version 3.1.0.6For 64-bit Windows Windows 7:
Toshiba PC Health Monitor for Windows 7 (64-bit) - Version 1.5.6.64
