
Satellite P305 has Conflict on the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter in Windows Device Manager due to Incorrect Driver

- Issue
A small number of units for the models listed above as applicable were pre-installed with the incorrect display driver, resulting in poor display quality and Windows Device Manager showing a conflict on the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.In these few cases, the recovery image used to create the Recovery DVD is also missing the correct driver.
- Resolution
There is an updated ATI Display Driver available to correct this issue.There are also sound driver and Toshiba DVD Player software updates available to improve media playback performance.
- Procedure
Download and install the updated the device drivers and Toshiba DVD Player, using the following versions or later releases:
ATI display driver (version v. 8.57-081209a-074115C)
Conexant Audio driver (version 4.83.1.0)
Toshiba DVD Player (version 1.40.35)
If your Satellite P305 had the wrong video driver preinstalled, you may also contact the Toshiba Customer Support Center at 1-800-457-7777 to have a Recovery DVD with the correct set of software sent free of charge.
