(TAIS), Computer Systems Group (CSG) today announced the new Magnia™ 7100 enterprise-class servers powered by quad Intel® Pentium® III 900MHz Xeon™ processors.

Featuring the fastest and latest technology available, the new Magnia 7100 is one of the industry's most robust enterprise server solutions, offering unsurpassed performance and reliability. A world-class performing, robust server solution, Toshiba's new Magnia 7100 Series is equipped with the industry's latest feature sets including quad Intel Pentium III Xeon 900MHz processors with 2MB Level 2 cache and 512MB of ECC SDRAM (expandable to 16GB), 64-bit hot-plug PCI slots, 10K RPM Ultra160 SCSI hard disk drives and 64-bit Ultra160 RAID controllers.

The Magnia 7100 also comes equipped with six standard 3.5-inch hot-swap SCA drive bays that support one-inch 9GB, 18GB and 36GB hot-swap hard disk drives. Using an optional second drive cage with six one-inch hot-swap drive bays, the powerful enterprise server can support up to 12 drives and reach a maximal storage capacity of 432GB (nearly half a Terabyte). For unsurpassed availability, Toshiba's Magnia 7100 features optional redundant and hot-swappable fans, power supplies and RAID controllers supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 or 50.

Providing increased flexibility, the Magnia 7100 is available in both pedestal and rack-mount orientations for use in single- and multi-server environments. The pedestal version of the Magnia 7100 can be quickly converted into a 7U rack-mount configuration to support changing needs while preserving the customer's investment.

The Magnia 7100 is certified compatible with Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows NT®, Novell NetWare® and Red Hat® Linux, enabling usage in a variety of environments. The Magnia 7100 servers are also plug-in compatible with leading enterprise-level management software, including Computer Associates' Unicenter®, Hewlett-Packard's Openview® and Tivoli's Framework*.

Toshiba offers comprehensive service and support programs to enhance customers' server computing experiences. Every Toshiba Magnia 7100, 3100, 3135R and 510D server includes a three-year parts and labor standard warranty, including next-business-day on-site service. If a hardware problem cannot be resolved over the telephone by an InTouchsm Center technician, a field engineer is dispatched to the customer's site to provide on-site service to get the system back up and running quickly. On-site service is available the next business day if the customer's site is within 60 miles of most major metropolitan areas in the United States.

In addition, all server customers receive telephone technical support through Toshiba's InTouch Center, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Online support, available at www.pcsupport.toshiba.com , offers immediate solutions to technical questions via "Ask IRISÔ", numerous downloads and support bulletins, as well as CompuServe's Online Forum. Toshiba's SelectServsm Service Programs also offer Magnia customers the option to upgrade to four-hour, on-site service and/or purchase custom installation service.
